Several dozen Former Amazon workers held a protest outside of Jeff Bezos' New York City penthouse to call for greater protections for warehouse workers during the pandemic, along with the right to unionize and a national wealth tax on the top 3 percent of earners. The protest was organized by Christian Smalls, a former Amazon employee who was fired after organizing a walkout to protest the company's handling of coronavirus. Since then, Smalls has founded an organizedcalled the Congress of Essential Workers, dedicated to protecting workers during the pandemic.
