Tech workers including, software engineers, designers, data analysts and product managers at the New York Times formed a union and are asking for voluntarily recognition from the company. The workers formed the union because of concerns regarding pay equity, job security, health care costs, and career advancement. The tech workers will be represented by the News Guild of New York which already has 1300 newsroom and staff members from the New York Times.
