Tech workers fighting for a union at the Times virtually walked out in protest over management’s continued anti-union tactics, the first work stoppage tied to unionization in the tech industry. On the day of the walk out, over 50% of the bargaining unit or 300 workers participated. They allege the company has been illegally trying to obstruct their unionization campaign. Tech workers from the company hope to join NewsGuild, an affiliate of the Communications Workers of America Union.
