Instacart shoppers under Gig Workers Collective have planned a nationwide work stoppage on October 16 until Instacart agrees to their demands for higher pay, occupational death benefits, and a more fair rating system. An Instacart spokesperson has responded that these experiences do not reflect the majority and are receptive to feedback. However, the workers claimed only receiving generic responses, and their open letter addressed to CEO Fidji Simo was ignored.
