With the backing of Foxglove Legal, Facebook contract moderators at Accenture are protesting low wages with a mobile billboard and internal letter. The billboard calls for Accenture CEO Julie Sweet to “stop exploiting your workers,” considering how much Accenture is paid compared to how much content moderators make per hour. Ukrainian and Spanish language moderators are also excluded from the $2 premium that bilingual moderators receive. Despite the demand for equal pay in June, there was no change. Moreover, the moderators’ work is emotionally and mentally taxing because of the unpleasant content they moderate. Accenture only offers access to behavioral coaches instead of professional psychological care, according to Foxglove Legal.
