A petition posted to a decentralized publishing platform mirror.xyz calls for the removal of several Coinbase execs. The anonymous petition was said to have been from employees and asked for a “vote of no confidence” that would remove Chief Operating Officer Emilie Choi, Chief Product Officer Surojit Chatterjee, and Chief People Officer LJ Brock. They were deemed “the most prominent executives who have been executing plans and ideas that have led to questionable results and negative value,” including a controversial performance review system and approach to hiring. The petitioners took issue with Coinbase’s “aggressive” hiring ambitions as well as its decision to rescind offers, which led to negative publicity. The petition appears to have since been pulled down, but Coinbase Chief Executive Brian Armstrong linked to a site referencing an archived version of it while criticizing the initiative Friday in posts on Twitter.
